What books did Nobel Prize winning Poly Alum Martin Perl read over and over again?

Despite growing up in a family where earning a living as a scientist was a foreign concept, Martin L. Perl embraced his love of reading mathematics and science books. Dr. Perl's avid reading helped him graduate summa cum laude from Polytechnic University in 1948 and later win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1995. As a young student, he would borrow the maximum number of books allowed on every visit to the public library, some of which he would borrow again and again including books by Lancelot Hogben. More information about Martin Perl's remarkable educational journey is available on the Nobel Prize website. Don't miss Dr. Perl's lecture, "Developing Creativity in Engineering and Science," on June 18 in the Pfizer Auditorium. Afterwards, come visit the library - you might find some inspirational books of your own.
