Let the games begin! Check out our new media and gaming resources

Collectively, we spend three billion hours a week playing video games worldwide. Not only is gaming one of the fastest growing industries in the U.S. economy, it has the potential to revolutionize the way we communicate, learn, and deal with tough social issues. Watch the video below to see how playing games may actually help combat hunger, poverty, and climate change.

"Gaming can make a better world"

In honor of today's opening of NYU-Poly's Game Innovation Lab, Dibner Library is displaying a recently updated collection of gaming and new media books in the atrium area. We've added over a dozen books on computer graphics, game engineering, interaction design, and digital culture.

In addition, a brand new Digital Media & Technology research guide provides easy access to wide array of information on graphics, gaming, human-computer interaction, mobile, social media, and video. This multimedia, interdisciplinary guide makes an excellent starting point for anyone interested in researching the exciting and ever-changing world of digital media. In addition to relevant journals, books and websites, you'll find podcasts, videos and twitter feeds, all bringing you the latest in digital media studies.
