NYU Libraries:

Bobst Library

Poly faculty, students, and staff can visit NYU's flagship Library: The Elmer Holmes Bobst Library, located at 70 Washington Square South.

Simply bring your Poly ID card to access the library. You will be able to borrow materials following NYU's circulation policies. Visit the NYU library web site for details on circulation privileges for faculty & administrators and students & staff.

Other NYU libraries

To acquire resources available at a NYU library other than Bobst, please consult with a librarian at Dibner Library. On site access to NYU’s other libraries is not available, with the exception of faculty access only to the Ehrman Medical Library.

Remote Access to Electronic Resources

Remote access to NYU’s subscription electronic resources is in the process of being established.  Access to new databases will be announced on the library blog as they are made available.

Alumni Access

Polytechnic alumni do not have access to NYU libraries, but may become a Friend of Bobst Library to gain access.

You may obtain a library card at any of the public libraries listed below if you live, work, or go to school in New York State.

 



Academic Libraries of Brooklyn (ALB)

The Polytechnic Institute of NYU is a member of the Academic Libraries of Brooklyn (ALB), a cooperative organization. Other members include:

With an ALB card and a valid NYU-Poly ID, Polytechnic faculty and students may visit any of these libraries, use resources on site and borrow up to two items at a time. The loan period for ALB circulating books is normally 28 days. Loans are not renewable. You can obtain an ALB card, which is valid for one semester, at the Dibner Library service desk.

 


Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO)

NYU-Poly is a member of the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO), a non-profit cooperative membership organization of 270 libraries and library systems in the five boroughs of New York City and Westchester County.

You may visit participating METRO libraries by obtaining a METRO referral card at our library service desk. The card is valid for one visit with no borrowing privileges. Search the Member Directory here.
